'Holographic Universe' Tracklisting Revealed \\ 2008.4.28
The recording of the third Scar Symmetry album, entitled 'Holographic Universe,' is finished! Drummer Henrik Ohlsson recently stated: 'The album will feature 12 songs and the material upholds the musical standard and diversity of the first two albums, but the songs also showcase the evolution of the band since 'Pitch Black Progress.' In other words, the material of the upcoming album displays additional twists and turns that evolves the sound of the band without losing its key ingredients musically.'

Album Version of 'Porcelain Heart' Coming Soon \\ 2008.04.20
On the 22nd of April Opeth will release the album version of Porcelain Heart! You can buy the track from amazon.com. Check it out! Also on the 22nd the Gigantour 2 album is released. Opeth is featured on the cd with the track 'Window Pane'.
Katatonia to Perform on the Melloboat! \\ 2008.4.20
Katatonia will perform on the 21st Anniversary Schizoid Boat on the 9th-11th May 2008 in honour of Mellotronen's birthday, and it would be nice if you could join for this event, as it's shaping up to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The party will take place over 40 hours on the largest ferry on the Baltic Sea, the Silja Symphony, a 204m luxury cruiser equipped with sauna and swimming pool facilities, cabins complete with showers, a shopping galleria, 8-10 bars and restaurants, and apart from the fantastic lineup of bands, there will also be an international music convention in the conference area, which is over 1000 square meters.
The ferry will be leaving at 17:00 on Friday, the 9th May, and will be returning to Stockholm 09:30 on Sunday the 10th, with a 7 and a half hour stop in Helsinki, during which a mini film festival will be held on the boat by Klubb Super 8 (for those wishing to remain onboard).
The age restriction for the cruise is 18, which is a special concession as the age limit for weekend cruises is normally 23. Opeth Finish Filming for New Video \\ 2008.04.18
Opeth has recently filmed a promotional video to an edit of the song 'Porcelain Heart.' The clip was directed by Lasse Hoile (Porcupine Tree, etc.) and shot in Vaxholm/Sweden at the marvellous Bogesund castle, built in the 1640's. The edit was done by Jens Bogren and Mikael Akerfeldt. Mikael comments: "I think the video came out great! The location and the castle was beyond gorgeous, even though it was cold and empty in there and...yeah, a little scary too. Lasse and his team as well as the actors did a great job! The clip is very gothic looking which I think is the perfect imagery for the song and for Opeth overall I suppose. Really enjoyed filming that one actually!"
Lost to the Living Update \\ 2008.3.30
Daylight Dies' very own Nathan Ellis recently gave the following update:
'As we speak our new album "Lost to the Living" is being mixed by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden. We are also nearing completion of the layout together with Travis Smith, which includes art and lyrics for every song. We went for a stark and dramatic approach this time: matte black paper, with stencil images in glossy black ink. Text logos in silver. Unfortunately it's impossible to properly render precisely what this will look like on a computer screen, so we've altered the cover below so the glossy black is a dark shade of grey, and the text/logo is a lighter shade of grey. Nevertheless, here's the cover of our new album:
"Lost to the Living" is completely finished and everyone couldn't be happier with the result. We hope to share a sample with you before too long. The running order of the album is as follows:
